AZ mtb advocacy needs help to win $50k

    Hello fellow mtbr's,

There's an exciting opp to win $50k for AZ mtb advocacy. Part year Tucson resident and pro Specialized racer, Todd Wells, nominated the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists for the Good.is /Ford Motor Co "Reinventing the Outdoors" Grant.
Voting starts Monday, May 16 and concludes Friday, May 20. This voting process is similar to the Redwood Creek grant that the Az Trail won last year. Vote early and vote often from all your registered email accounts!

If SDMB wins, the club will push hard to develop and build a mtb park somewhere in the Urban core. There's a decent amount of vacant land available, and building a skills park/DJ area is a needed facility.

Good.is posted 5 articles on the website from an interview that they did with the Prez of SDMB and others, and there will be a video of us riding with Todd Wells during the voting period. The voting period will be during May 16th to May 20th.

You can access the primary link from the home page of www.sdmb.org or directly on the good.is site - there's a "Reinventing the Outdoors" box at the bottom of the left list.

They did a great job making the interview sound good and captured tons of information with some nice pictures from the SDMB website as well. The AZ Daily Star saw this unsolicitated and called Brian and I for an interview; here is the published result:

In the meantime to prepare yourself for voting and check out the 5 articles here:

This is a very very exciting opportunity, that will provide great things to our AZ MTB community.

I will post once the voting opens as well.
    Thanks for your support!
