    Attention all Phoenix MTBers...

...you are officially invited to come experience Mt Lemmon. Trails like Sunset, Butterfly, Cove, Aspen, Secret, Bigelow (basically, trails you have never ridden but should have done a long time ago). Light morning ride, followed by coffee and cinnamon buns at Summerhaven. Mmmmmmmmmmm! Go relax in the pines or head out for another round of riding. Grilling and beer at night. Key words: bikes, fun, beer.

This weekend, 8/21-8/23, camping on Bigelow. PM me for more details. More info here.

Amigos mios, sorry about the late notice. Mike, we need to ride soon. How about next week in Prescott? I will be doing some early, early rides next Wed-Friday. Tell Dave hello for me if you see him. Senorita Coyote, perhaps next time. Now that you have the traveling bug, you can work Tucson into your schedule

If anyone else is interested, the drive from Phoenix-Camping spot is about 3 hours, worth it since you will be camping at 8k feet and riding in the pines and aspens. No race pace racing, just chilled relax morning ride and perhaps a longer ride in the afternoon. I have GPX files if you need to see what the climbing is like. Some beginner trails, but mostly intermediate type stuff on Lemmon.

same thing here....late notice means I can't leave town overnight...either night, otherwise I would be very down for this. I'll take those gpx files though if you can email them to me....would like to go for a day ride on Friday before having to drive back. If anyone wants to head down to Lemmon on Friday since I have it off...let me know...I'll have room.

These are some tough, AM trails with super-tech sections and an occasional, short HAB
    here and there.

In addition, get ready for a couple of 3 mile climbs w/ 1700 ft of elevation gain. 45 minutes
    of steady pedalling.

Bring the right bike and your best lungs.

Bad advice. Bring some beer and a sense of humor. The rest will come naturally.

If you don't have HAB....you're probably taking it too easy on yourself

Actually, I was hinting on not showing up with a heavy, DH bike.

A rigid SS would be much better, but for me, it would be almost impossible to ride through
as many sections as I can ride my AM bike; such as the more technical climbs where I
use the full advantage of torque-reduction, and the larger, rock out-croppings, where I use
the full advantage of 6+ inches of travel and just slam into and drop off of stuff.
