Ah-well-ah everybody's heard about the Bird...

....Bird Bird Bird, BIRD IS THE WORD !

After riding the 2010 Enduro for a few months, it just was not a good fit for my riding style.
SMC took it back on trade ( for a VERY fair price ) for this awesome ride !

Had a chance to take it out this morning and I am loving it !

Thank-you, South Mountain Cycles. Your customer service is 2nd to none !

That looks like the carbon fiber rocker. If it is, you might want to try and get the alloy one. Other than that enjoy the ride!!!

I didn't know it was going to you mang! I'd have dropped a ball bearing inside if I did Just kidding! That's the new version rocker which is way beefier than the original. Nobody has had any issues with it at all and it held up very well at the test lab.

A bell inside would have been better. That way hikers can hear me tumbling wildly out of control down the side of the mountain and have time to get out of the way !

I have only ridden it for an hour so far and there are three words that come to mind when I think about what I immediately like about the bike.

    climb
    manual
    jump

It pedals like a hard tail, is easy to manual and I only hit a few small things this morning but the bike feels lighter then it should. this may just be chalked up to new bike syndrome. I will keep you posted.

I can not wait to get out and really break it in !

I'd be very interested in hearing specifically how the 'Bird is different/better/worse than your Enduro. I love my Enduro, but am also interested in a Firebird.

Nice bikes I like my Firebird and they do climb, jump and manual very well. I am really starting to like the new Float 36. If not nothing else the gold stanchions look very cool. Not totally sold on the low BB. Other than that all is good.

Very nice. Love the low slumped TT, great for handling.

Looks like a massive amount of spacers and a really long stem, might just be the pics though, or maybe you are freaky tall or something Hope you got the right size frame. Of course you're still in trial mode....Enjoy!

Frame size is XL. I plan on shortening the stem a bit and will definetely cut the tube. I wanted to ride it first. I'd rather be like a blind man at an orgy and "feel things out" then do something drastic that I can't undo later !
