    AES - Pleasantville

If you are looking for a nice, long ride this weekend come out and do a big loop around Lake Pleasant. It's a pretty fun loop, with only a little bit of the typical AES WTF sections on the north part of the lake. If you haven't ridden the trails at Lake Pleasant, this is a good chance to check them out - they are pretty good.

    Sounds like fun, I'll go!!

My buddy, Ray, wants to know if the course is marked and if it's single speed friendly buffed out singletrack since he can't ride the bumpy stuff anymore. Thanks!!

Just tell him to follow you.... If he can keep up... And there will be some bumps, but tell him to bring a gravel bike.

PSA: The section called "JoeP's" sandbox has been removed from the course as the start point is now the Park n Ride behind the Circle K off Daisy Mtn.

I will be there. Asking you guys to check in that I make it back to safety. I'm so out of shape I am a little afraid of the distance.

Look forward to seeing you out there.

It is pretty long, but not a ton of climbing. Also, you can always bail out to I-17 from Table Mesa Road if you just can't face that last bit. But that would be a shame since that bit is pretty good.

Yeah the sand box is out, but mud pit might be in. Given the rains last evening there one spot under the 1-17 that tends to hold water. Hope to give it a little recon this evening and report out in the morning at the meeting.

Mud? Sand? WTF? I didn't sign up for any of that! I want smooth, downhill trails. Fix it Joe.

Else I'll have to join Ray on an e-bike.

Yep. Plenty of charging locations available right in the the river bed if you can find them in the midst of the death plants on the north side of the lake.

Have fun tomorrow everyone. The course is in good shape - since I couldnít ride it tomorrow I rode it Thursday. Albeit very, very slowly.

The "trail" just gets a little bumpy in sections.

    Results are up.
    https://rockyroad5050.wordpress.com/...ville-results/

This is the second year we did this route and I think it is a keeper. It is a lot of miles, but a nice mix of trails and dirt roads and a little bit of chunky stuff. Plus some really great scenery. Unfortunately there is really no HAB - it is 100% rideable.

Thanks to all who came out and made this another memorable day.

You forgot about crossing the New River at the end. .25 miles of boulder field.

yeah, blocked that out. It just doesn't seem right to be HABing on level ground.
