I do when I am riding park or urban and sometimes dj. Better visibility and not as hot as a full face.

They are fine so long as...

...you buy the real bike/BMX version as opposed to the skater version. The skater version uses a soft spongy foam while the bike/BMX version uses the hard(er) bike helmet foam.

    Good point...

...I should have clarified my answer, I assumed that the person asking was actually riding street/dirt/park.

Yeah, but what about for off the hook black diamond jibbing? Here's my preference, I prefer it to have small flags flying from the horns though, so everybody know's I'm a true soldier for life

I'm using a Giro Semi MX for all riding other than freeriding (661 full-face for that) - it's like a skate lid, with more protection for the back of the head that an XC lid, but unlike a skate lid has some vents for breathability and a visor to keep the sun outta your eyes - I highly recommend it if you have the means...

    Only for urban

I wear a skate style helmet for urban, but not for trails. I figure Im more prone to breaking a helmet on concrete than dirt, and since it has the same safety rating as my $100 Giro, I might as well risk breaking the $20 Bell.

... and if we just ... Sure, I use a piss pot!

Who needs a full face? I run a silver Bell Scuffle for XC and street riding. Fullface for FR/DH.
