    what helmet cam to buy

    Hey all,
My apologies as I am sure this has been asked umpteen times before. I am in the market for a helmet cam. I want this for DH and FR video. I would like to spend less than 1000$ if possible. I am not interested in a major production, just sharing with my pals. Helmetcamera.com looks good. What do you all recommend?? Many thanks!!!

For the "pack mule" camera, get a used Sony with AV in off of ebay. Any of the models from
the HC42 through the HC96 will do nicely, as long as you have confirmed that they have the
    required AV in.

Less than $200 if you shop wisely.

I've had two helmet camera dot com lenses crap out on me.

Not sure if you want to try to save GOBS more money by DIY'ing, but check this out:

A battery to power it is about $20.

A bit of pvc, some plexiglass and some velcro and you can build your own protective
    mount.
