    Westwoods with helmets this time...

Slider's never been to Westwoods. Today we went. Once everyone's helmet was on, we rode. This place eats bikes and people. We've had so many mechanicals and injuries there over the years. I suppose its the shear number of drops, rocks and launches. Sooner or later you're going to make a mistake and something will break. Slider did pretty dang well considering it was his first time there. I did not so well, just not on today.

Paul does a nice launch of a huge rock.

A couple of shots along the slick rock. We didn't stop for many pics along the way. This place is amazing with the technical single track. These shots just show the "boring" Connecticut slickrock part:

Paul can lauch some amazing stuff on his Maverick ML-7. I'm impressed just about everytime we ride together. Today, there was this rock, seemed like a pretty good launch off the back of it. The back side had a slight decline on it and Paul was unsuccessful in getting his front up off the rock. He rolled down and crashed hard.

    Just before the carnage:

And the aftermath. Paul got the wind knocked out of him, and bruised his back side. The only damage to the bike was a broken bolt on his seatpost. After a bit of re-engineering using the bolt from his alien tool we were back in business:

That is all for now. One last shot of us on the overlook:

Thanks. I'm looking for a place to go riding for a weekend at the end of July. Any suggestions in the NH area?

Well theres Bear Brook in Allenstown (see thread in NH, VT, ME forum) then you could do the Fomba Trails on the second day. www.fomba.com. Both are great riding areas that will give you a full weekend.
