    Wellgo MG-1's and shoes

I have a pair of Wellgo MG-1 pedals - right now I'm wearing a pair of Vans to ride, but am considering getting something else (it might be just another pair of Vans, I really like the pair I have now and want to keep them in decent shape).

Would it be worth the money to get one of the entry level mtb Sidi's?

Basically I'm looking for something reasonably light, with hard enough soles, that will fit snugly and weather allowing being able to wear them without socks....

Not looking at changing to clipless, etc. anytime soon. Any advice?

you wouldnt want to use clipless type shoes with platform pedals. look into the non-spd shoes made by Shimano or Five Ten. bike specific shoes will have a stiffer sole than what your Vans have, a stiffer sole will make pedalling more efficient.
