    Not for the squeamish...

Thanks for posting that. I never ridden a trail without a helmet for years but I've been tempted on days that I forgot my helmet. That just reinforces why I won't do it.

Don't you wonder how that happened?

gnarly. It seems odd that he is so clean. Last time I had to get stitches in my head, I didn't go home to shower and change before going to the hospital and that is far, far worse than anything I have done. Regardless, helmets are good.

Doooood! that's either a fantastic make-up job or dude got scalped!
It's amazing how may times I see vids of dirt jumping sans any kind of protection.
ta each their own I guess.

I really want to touch the part where his hair used to be and ask him if it hurts.

Just this weekend at fRedHills Seth put a big gouge in his helmet on a particularly challenging hard left turn on the RR grade.

You only need that helmet 1 ride out of 200 but when you do need it you don't regret wearing it the other 199 times.

Paul Harvey would tie it into some Islamic thing and then try to sell you Esther-C.

Serious. If you don't like wearing a skid lid, its probalby because you don't have a good one. If you have a decent helmet that fits you well, you hardly know it's there.

Anyone else hungry for beef jerky?
I wear my helmet every ride (even to my daughters' school 1/4mi away) but I have only "USED" it a handful of times. You're right zorg even at .5% risk you are glad that you had it.

If I show up for a ride and I've forgotten my cycling shoes I'd probably still do the ride (been there, done that). OTOH, if I've forgotten my helmet, I would not do the ride. Period.

We were headed up to Pinecrest Peak, which has a 10 mile technical DH... we ran into two guys with no head cover... ugh. "Oh I guess I left it in the car..."

Not the kind of place you want to ride without a helmut.

Fortunately one of the guys wound up bailing and driving up and meeting us at the top so the guy who finished the ride had a helmet. He didn't need it but I would have hated to see someone riding that trail without.

I dunno, there doesn't seem to be much blood. I always thought face and head wounds bled all over the place so even smallish ones look outrageous...

no offence to the guy if he really crashed...

hope he's OK if that's real.
