Two Diablo helmet cam vids from Labor Day

I bought a cheap helmet cam from Sams Club like 3 months ago and never bothered to use it until this weekend when I actually took the whole 15 minutes to set it up. If you're anything like me when you listen to music, certain tracks stick out in your mind as those that would fit well with a riding video. Certain types of music fit certain types of riding and these are two different tracks for two different runs; equally awesome. At the very least I figured that these vids would keep me from going out of my mind in the dead of winter when I'm starting at my bike in the living room. Enjoy...

I like the first vid! You can nearly "feel" airtime because it's the only time the camera is not shaking.

Haha I know what you mean. Even though I clamped the mount as tight as I could, the camera still wobbled a little bit. I guess that's what you get for 50 bucks.

Nice! It reminds me of how much fun the open course is. What camera are you using? It looks way more smooth than my footage.

nice vids...now I can finally show my wife what I do at Diablo every week.
anyone know why the step up above Dom's is still closed?
I remember reading that erosion may be a problem...any truth?

the step up coming off the fire road, or coming out of the berms? either way, I think they are both closed for the same reason. there was a massive backhoe just under crap chute on Monday excavating the entire hillside. that whole overpass is gone. crap chute was untouched so it may be OK. looked like a ski slope renovation.

Yea that whole bridge that goes over the fire road was removed. Word on the street is that area was a problem for the mountain in terms of skiiers running into eachother, so they're renovating it.

Someone else asked about another step up being closed? Are you talking about the one towards the end of Asylum? I rode Asylum this weekend, but ducked off to the right after the first steep section onto Waterboy, so I'm not sure if the lower part is closed. My guess is that it's closed because it pops out right where that excavator is.

yeah I was referring to the one coming off the fire road. The whole area was roped off last weekend.
I know the overpass that you speak of.
So...those trails should be ok if they were just removing the structure...right?

Speaking of Asylum, I'm pretty sure they've done something to the steep-ish rock garden at the beginning of that trail. It felt way easier this past weekend than it was before. Now you can actually take the line to the left of the tree. I think they took some rocks out of there or something.

    Anybody know the scoop?
