Time Atac Alium - with Shimano shoes? Anyone?

    Hey guys,

I currently have Time Atac Aliums and Pearl Izumi shoes. I don't like the shoes much anyway and the velcro doesn't work well anymore, so it's time for something new. Anyway, I had to cut off some of the rubber on the bottom of the shoes to get them to work well with the Time pedals.

I'm looking at ordering some Shimano M086L's, but not sure if I'll have the same clearance issues or know exactly how much rubber I'll have to shave off. I don't want to have to cut off too much, otherwise I'll just go back to SPD's. Anyone have any experience with this combo?

And for the record - I've already decided on Shimano shoes. I have many years of experience with their road bike shoes and they fit my feet really well.

    Thanks

We sell both and have not needed to make any alterations. Work great.

I use Aliums with Shimano M300 shoes and they are great. The retention bars do wear the carbon sole a little bit around the cleat but not too much and nothing that some metal protectors couldn't stop. It just hasn't worried me enough to put them on.
