Why all the tights, lycra, etc. What was ever wrong with pants? Good old fashion pants.
You have just been mentally Rick Roll'd. Yup you're thinking about it right now aren't you? Don't fight it.

I gotta say, I dis guys who don't where regular shorts over Lycra. I understand the benefits of wearing it, but I don't need to see that you're wearing it.

Women shouldn't just wear it either, then I'll stare too much and fall off my bike <--could be worth it depending on the female though.

So you were the guy I had arrested on the bus right before Christmas?

But seriously, I got on the bus with leg warmers under shorts (I was doing a combo bike-bus commute) and a guy started out a conversation almost exactly like you said.

It quickly devolved to him threaten me with a knife, him striking me followed by me calling the cops. He was arrested for felony menacing, endangering public transit and harassment.

I was not hurt except for the near hypothermia filling out reports in the cold outside the bus. I guess my tights were still not warm enough.

And see, this is where a proper pants wearing man would have given this hooligan a well deserved beat down.

Lets see here. Against a I really messed up (mental or drug induced) aggressive dude, 2 inches taller than me, weighing 80 pounds more than me with a knife?

I think using my cell was the appropriate response. Plus I had a lot of witnesses to refute his claim in the end that I make physical contact with him.

Sounds like getting into a verbal dispute with him over spandex was a stellar plan.

I'm just giving you a hard time.. we all know that civilized men have evolved past using violence to settle disputes. Luckily modern US society has enlightenments such as lawyers, xanax and no-score children's sports to refine such barbarism out of our future generations.

If this doubles as a reasonable bar light I might try it out. Certainly it has to be brighter than my 10w halogen. Hell, it'll probably blind me anyway.

Years ago my friends and I made up a Man Card...print it out, fold it in half and you're all set.

I wore pantyhose for 5 days straight in a winter race in Alaska. It was the only piece of clothing I wore that cost less than $100. The warmth to cost ratio of pantyhose is way underrated. Best 3 bucks I ever spent.

and I'm sure they provided you the support you needed!

no, really, some people can wear 'em. I can't. They make me itch. I remember having a job interview in the 90s at an accounting firm in which they stated females must wear hose and skirts.

    eww...

I'm so glad I didn't get that position...

Yeah, I have heard that panty hose are fairly warm and provide good muscle support. I've heard of bike and Nordic racers wearing them under their tights or wind pants, but that was in the old days and I think modern tights provide the same muscle support but aren't, as CRD mentioned, itchy
