Solution: Missing toe spikes on shoes

    Long-short:

Got a pair of answer shoes last week. Loctited the spikes and let cure. I still lost one on the trail.

    Fast forward:

Stopped by local sports chain store and saw a 14 package of toe spikes for football cleats for $3.99. They look identical to the one I lost, with the exception of the metal button at the end. I decided to try it out and they fit exactly as the oem one did. The mold markings are identical, too. The wrench spacing is identical and the pack even included a different type of wrench.

Yeah, they didn't reinvent the wheel on this one. Soccer cleats work too.

Do you know which sport uses the metal tipped variety?

    Soccer Does For Sure

The cleats on my soccer shoes are the same (save for logos) as all my mtb shoes, metal tips and all.

Great call. I didn't find the soccer cleats at the local Sports Authority or Modell's, but I have 14 to go through before I need to look again.

rugby cleats traditionally use all aluminum spikes for the forward positions, so if you want all aluminum cleats there you go.
