So... I got soaked with salt water this morning...

My friends and I rode on the beach today since it rained all night. Didn't want to ruin the trails. It was very high tide and there was very little beach in this one section. As I was passing this very narrow area, A wave came up fast and there was nowhere for me to go. It for my bike over the axles and filled both of my Sidi shoes.
The bike, I'm good. Disassemble, wash, regrease, reassemble. The shoes... What to do here? Rinse with warm water good enough? Can I put em in the washing machine? Anyone know?

Do you ever sweat in them? I'm guessing salt water won't hurt them. Rinse them out and let them air dry.

Depends on how often you experience wet/moist boots, but one of the best things I've ever bought for winter riding is a boot-drier from REI. After a ride my boots are always somewhat moist and I just put them on this thing for 30 minutes with my gloves and all is dry. With more saturated boots, it'll take longer, but this works and prevents mold and other stuff from growing. It's an awesome pre-heater too.

Thanks fellas. I took out the insoles and washed the shoes and insoles in the kitchen sink with plenty of hot water and dish soap. Rinsed em clear and put them in the basement with the dehumidifier. They're already dry and smell nice!
