    smallest helmet?

For my one year old...a Giro Me2 is a tiny bit too big. It's ok circumference wise, but the plastic headband sits right on the top of his ears and pinches him.

I'd just add some more pads at the very top side of the helmet to raise it up a bit. First kiddie one I bought had a series of pads from about 1" thick down to about 1/4". You can stack them to get the right fit. Any old pads from one of your helmets should do the trick. You just want to make sure it's correctly positioned around the brow line. i.e. don't go too high.

Lazer BOB helmets go down to 46cm. Smallest I have seen and works on my 8 month old's head on our family rides. The Giro me2 only goes down to 48cm like most.

Giro helmet had included a set of thicker foam pads. Placing them all in the back, behind and above the adjuster strap did the trick - it was a great fit on 9 month old.
