Which shoes to use with orthotics?

I bought bike orthotics and the front part is 2-3 times thicker than the insert for my Shimano m181 shoes. As a result, the shoes feel too tight.

Do you recommend any shoe brand/model which has higher volume up front?

    Thanks!

I'd look at the specialized shoes. They tend to do a very good job with they Body Geometry line of products and they even have their own of over the counter insoles. I'm curious to see what works for you as I've been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis and I'm considering using orthotics/insoles while riding as well. Currently I switch between the Shimano M122 and Shimano MT21 shoes.

No, seriously, try Northwave they're pretty huge in the toebox. I've ridden an old pair of Carnac's that are pretty big. I'm not sure what their current offering is like.

I agree. I have a very wide forefoot (4E in regular shoes) and Specialized MTB shoes fit me beautifully.

I had that a few years ago. Brutal.
