    Shimano MT42 Shoes

Does anyone know if these are good MTN bike shoes. They are going to be my first clipless to go with the M520 pedal

I have an older version of this shoe. Different color but essentially the same. I bought it specifically because it has a rubber sole. I was looking for something that could handle hike-a-bike pretty well without slipping and sliding on wet rocks. The shoe performs well as a clipless shoe and provides great off-bike traction. Its only downside is that the rubber soles make the shoes heavy. Great all purpose trail shoe but probably not what you want for racing.

I also have the Lake 165's. Vibram sole, great traction but again also heavy.
