Road Helmet for XC mtb ?

    hello
i'm in the market for a new helmet and I ride a road bike and mtb. I am thinking about getting a road specific helmet such as the Met Stradivarius and using it for mtb also.

any reasons why a road helmet is not ok for mtb. Apart from having no peak I don't any problems.

    cheers for any advice

This has been argued alot about in the past.
Most people felt that Road helmets really weren't that different to MTB helmets all up.
Theres small difference such as that Road helmets are made to channel air through at higher speed, while MTB helmets are made to allow flow at low speeds.
Some people said that MTB had better protection, but it really is not that big of a deal(unless you compare it to that new Gir Xen?).

May I suggest you look at the Met 5th element(that the model??). Way cooler(both looks and vents).

Unless you're talking full face, the only difference is the visor.
