    Recommend me a helmet

    Hey all

I had a big off a while ago, broke my elbow and my helmet. I can get back on the bike finally so looking for a new lid. I ride a 29er hardtail and do a combination of road rides (up to 50km) and easy-intermediate singletrack (no big drop-offs or air, etc).

I think what I need is a helmet that is kinda between a XC helmet (e.g. Bell Event XC) and the enduro-style helmets.

The closest I have found (here in Australia at least) are the Giro Lupo and Fox Flux helmets. Although they are more targetted at "all mountain" they are light enough to ride for longer road rides.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers,
    John

With helmets you have to try them on to check the fit. I love my Leatt, but it may not fit you.

Kali Intercepter. Awesome helmet and great safety tech. Breathes well, light and adjustable. Saved my head in a crash last year.

All of the new 2018 Troy Lee helmets dropped today, new A1 and A2's

From wild to mild and that new A2 is the only helmet with EPP and EPS comolded, for low speed multi impact protection and the EPS for high speed, MIPS, big vents, adjustable retention system, light, winner.

Smith helmets have a unique safety feature that might interest you. They've managed to increase the impact protection while keeping the weight reasonable.

Look at the POC Tectal and Tectal Race. I have the Tectal Race - got a good discount, about $60 off - and love the fit, style, etc. Feels great and gives great protection.
