    Protective Top/Shirt/Armor for All-Mountain

Hey all, this is my first thread.

I am always at a loss as to what kind of Top/Shirt to where for All-Mountain/FR-Lite.

For XC, I just dress for the weather and don't worry about protection.

For DH/FR, I have my super heavy Kali full body armor. However, unless I've doing FR, I feel that's overkill.

I Hate elbow and knee pads, they always move and they're uncomfortable in every way.

I actually found something that looked really interesting. Don't laugh,.. or ask how I found it, .. but it's a "Combat Shirt"
    http://www.code3tactical.com/tru-spe...bat-shirt.aspx

What I like is that it's abrasion resistant and has built in non-restrictive looking elbow pads. (I don't intend on encountering 230 degree temperatures.. but hey, you never know... might go mountain biking on a volcano)

It's like my kali body armor LITE.

Before I buy this, what do you guys where?

    You may want this
    http://dhreno.wordpress.com/2007/10/...untain-biking/

I bought a few they took a few ride to get used to, but man they are working. I took a few spills on some tech climb not hurt at all. You may be able to find one at Spyder outlet store( they are in the outlet thru out the country) at a very good price, just call around. I think they are available in XS, S,M, and L. They are tight fit so get a bit larger size if you can.

    Good luck

    thanks!! that looks really awesome.

For the price it's kind of disappointing that it lacks padding anywhere on the back or chest.

    But WOW!! cool stuff!

I might try it out,.. but it seems really hard to come by these days.

I found my spare ones by calling them up, it's like $60 +tax and shipping. They are what I wear on my AM ride. Anything more I'd go for my 661 pressure suit.

    Thanks friend!!

I just bought 1 top and 1 pair of shorts

I bought the slightly longer top
    http://shop.starthaus.com/store/pc/v...idproduct=4213

I called a bunch of places.. a few near me in NY.. and NO ONE has any left except that place in NV.

    Thanks for the tip!!

They had the shorter one for $60. I got the longer one for $80. The shorts were also $80.

Totally excited.. I love new bike toys!!
