POC VPD 2.0 knee pads started chafing...

Fellow riders, need your insight with this one.

After 2 years of use, my trusted POC knee pads started chafing. They always were on a tight size of fit, not extremely tight, but tight enough to sit without movement. Legs are the same. The knee pads also look the same - they are not worn, the rubber strip is not damaged - pretty much everything the same.

    But something changed (((((

Is there any solution for this? Maybe talc or an ointment?

Also, What would be your suggestion for other POCish knee pads, i.e. good protection, excellent quality, tight fit and NO freaking chafing?

Could be contaminated ... by anything. Dirt, bush.. bugs.. did you wash them recently??

Even changing the soap you shower with could be an issue, having that on your skin, and then getting sweaty rubbing hard on the skin could cause dramas

The only time mine are uncomfortable is when they are cold, which stiffens the padding. I've been using them 2 1/2 years 4 times a week, and they are still in good shape.

Nope, no contamination whatsoever, I also laundry them once a week. They are flawless still.

But I found the problem - my muscles have grown, so I went from size M to L by POC's chart - probably this is the problem.

You need to stop riding for a while and atrophy those muscles😉

Noooooo, it took me a while to earn them, I'll stick with the muscles and just replace the pads.

Can't decide between regular VPD 2.0 and Air... Air may slip...

I had one that chafed on the back of my knee when they were new, and I could never figure out why. It wasn't a seam or fold or anything obvious, but it went away after @ 20 rides. They're like comfy mittens now.
