    POC Trabec Race

Anybody use one for XC? After a close encounter with some rocks I have been thinking about picking up one for more protection.

I don't have the race version, I didn't like the colors. I have the regular version in all black and I use it for all my riding.

I have Fox Flux and Giro Xen as well. Trabec is significantly better quality and I like the style.

Not any hotter in my opinion than my other helmets.

I have the Trabec Race and love the helmet. It is pretty big and the white and orange is pretty loud but I can't see the thing when it is on my head so I didn't really care. Definately built better than any other. It fits more comfortably as well. I like the fact that you have more ear and back of head protection. It does interfear a little with my oakleys but you get used to it. Also, with the white visor I noticed that when I'm riding at night and really pinning it out of the saddle on a steep climb the light kind of reflects off the white visor and into my eyes a little. I probably should be more in the center of the cockpit to eliminate the issue. I had to work pretty hard to find a L/XL on the web. They are pretty scarce....

I have several POC protective gear. Its all good stuff.

    I've had mine for a whopping 2 weeks, so maybe 7 rides. I've the orange/white L-XL

First helmet that actually fits my head. More 'wraparound' of a type of feeling than other helmets. What the other guy said about sunglasses being a tight fit is true as the stems have to fit between the helmet and your head.

Best part is the damn thing doesn't move. It stays put. I've worn a Giro Xen for the last 5 or 6 years and this thing just is head and shoulders above it. The way it's shaped, like the other guy said, you cant see or feel it so you forget it's on. Helmet sliding down over your eyes on rough technical downhill is a thing of the past.

One more thing. It comes with a helmet bag and an extra interior liner. (complete foam liner, not just sizing pads)

    Check it out.

    Cheers!
