    Painting a MTB Helmet

    i wanted to paint one of my helmets one solid color (Gold).

    does anyone have any tips on how to do this? what type of paint to use?

    I do know of people doing it to DH lids (seen a thread here once or twice so a search might help). Also can tell you that Specialized have released a limited edition all gold Decibel helmet - we got one in the shop the other week, very bling .

    IF YOU MUST...
    hell, use krylon, it's made for plastic. just don't blame me if it flicks up....
    A bike is the only drug with no bad side effects....

    maybe doing some very light/fine sanding before painting would keep the new paint in place?

    clean it, wet sand it (fine grit) lightly, dry, clean, adhesion promoter, paint in multiple thin even coats, clear if your into that sorta thing

    Do your research on paints. A lot of commercially availible paints can ruin the interior protection of the helmet.
