    Painting Helmets

Saw an article in MBAction magazine displaying custom-painted helmets of John Tomac and Bob Roll from the early days of the sport; has anybody out there done custom work on their helmets (without taking out a 2nd motgage for a Troy Lee custom job)? If so, what's the best way to prep a helmet? Are there certain paints to avoid using, so as not to weaken the helmet? Thanks!

    Ask this guy.

Or have him do the job for you.

    Hi,

I paint professionally. I use the Auto Air paint products. It is specially formulated for custom work. Is non toxic. The clear coat I use to potect the artwork is of professional grade and done in a professional paint booth. You can see helmet samples on www.greenice.com. I do not paint graphics if you are interested in me doing the job. Most of the helmet seen on the site are hang gliding and paragliding helmets.

    Sincerely,

    Philippe
