    Padded full-fingered mtb gloves?

My friend rides a kewl older rigid bike-- seeks good palm padding in his gloves (as in roadie gloves), but also needs full-fingers for protection from thistles, crashes, etc. We've been looking, but all mtb gloves seem to have minimal padding. Any suggestions?

Have a look at specialized's range, their long fingered gloves have their BG padding (which is very good), and they might make the gel glove in a long too.

Well, do you want breathability, or protection?

You can't have one and complain about the other.

On that note...............Troy Lee Designs makes the "Air" gloves which has more of a mesh top that breathes very well. Of course, vines and what-not could still poke you easier than a regular full fingered glove, but it's a decent compromise

I've been wearing full-finger gloves year round (incl. summer) for at least two years. Better mtb gloves are engineed to provide ventilation. Thanks for your recommendations everyone... we will check 'em out!
