    OT - Pilot's helmet visors

It might sound stupid but.... how can pilots fly with those black visors on the helmets??? Are really those shaded or anything??? Are different models for night, day, etc??

    Thanks....

They're not solid black - they're just tinted plastic, like dark sunglasses.

    Depends

Ours are tinted very dark. Essentially replacing the need for sunglasses. There is a clear visor as well.
Had not heard of them being used for IFR training. That's flying without instruments, right...or is that backward? Instruments only? Then there is NVG flight, another situation to it's own.
Not a crew chief or pilot obviously, but go on test flights for some of the stuff I fix.
