Need new knee/shin guards, advice appreciated

    I currently have these:

Fox Shorty launch pads (shorty version because I'm a shorty )

They are a year old, and keep slipping down my leg. Really irritating.

For my next purchase, I'm thinking of getting the "sock" kind of knee/shin guard, where you wear it like a sock. Not going for knee only, flat pedals with pins really hurt without shin protection.

Anyone tried these before? TLD KG5450 guards.

POC joint shin, looks awesome but costs a bomb.

661 4x4 cover from the top of my knee to my ankle and around the back. They stay put like no other guard I've used, but they are hot. Priced cheap compared to others, but are somewhat flexible, not rigid impact plastic. They seem to be big with the unicycle crowd.
I've seen them paired with 2x4 elbow pads for $50-$75, athough I missed out on that deal.

Need something that isn't "hot", as the temps are are around 30-34 Celsius in the day.
Did some reading of reviews, and it seems that this POC brand is highly rated. They also have a hard shell version of the knee/shin guard, "Bones". Hmm.. anyone tried POC bones before?

I read that over and over again.. really good info! I think I buy some velcro to make my Fox shorties tighter, and keep it as a backup guard for friends or whatever.

Too bad there's no POC stuff at any LBS in my country. I will try the TLD ones if I can find them.
