Need a mountain biking backpack. Not a water one!
I just need a backpack to hold my keys, phone, pump and repair kit. Not much else. No water. Not expensive.

They have nothing at the local shops and I've never shopped online for this stuff.

    Thanks.

Small bum bag might be ideal. Or a small seat bag for repair essentials and a cycling jersey with pockets.

Is this in addition to a saddle bag?

I've got this one, use it for the beach/hiking. But I have used it on the bike, and it's easy to ride with. Good quality.cheap. Easy to fold.

I do think you are better off finding an inexpensive frame bag.

... then any kind of bag that you fee comfortable will do...

If that is all you need to store then maybe consider a seat post bag or a bar bag that uses water bottle mounting points like the Bar Fly unit or Specialized SWAT.

Another option is an inexpensive frame bag. A search at Amazon returns a lot for around 12.00.

The things you mention can easily be put in a Topeak saddle pal, though. Maybe size large, expandable would be best to fit a pump, depending on the pump.

or maybe both? (I have a medium Topeak on my mountain bike).

It's better to put your gear on the bike, rather than your back. The center of gravity is lower and more stable, doesn't cause back problems, and if you wreck, you don't fall on the pump, or other tools.

I also like how that bag attaches to the bottle cage. Nice.
