    MP66 shoes with SP520/ 540/ XT/ XTR SPD pedals?

    MP66 shoes with SP520/ 540/ XT/ XTR SPD pedals?
    Hi

anyone used these pedals with these shoes for XC?

I know they are not ideal XC shoes but have been using these with MP647 (with the cage platform)

curious to know what these are like with a non platform clipless pedal

    Thanks all

I ran mp66's with the 520's for awhile, but i dont like being clipped in on downhills. I bought some wellgo D10's pedals which allow for one side SPD and one side platform with no clip. Some people around here will argue being clipped in for techy downhills is better, but i beg to differ. My only two crashes have happened when being clipped in (one sand trap in the corner of a downhill, and one uphill climb where someone crashed into me). But i digress, the mp66s work fine with 520's. The 520's have a large enough area (platform) to rest your foot on and still pedal, or to find your clip. I just dont understand why you would want/need mp66's for a traditional clip pedal. IMO the 66's are better for use with a platform pedal, but still having the option of going spd.
