Most minimal shin guards for brush

Many of the trails I ride are overgrown with rabbit brush, sage, and chokecherry, and my shins get scraped up on descents, so I don't really need armor at all, and perhaps high socks would do the trick, but I wanted to ask for rec's on really light weight shin protection that isn't going to be hot in the summer.

Light pants, or hocky shin guards. Anything properly designed for biking tends to be a bit too well padded or secure to be well ventilated as well.

661 4x4 knee and shin seem pretty good, they may be a little overkill for you but....

not the biggest fan of 661 but their veggie shin guards are super lightweight.

I can't tell if the veggie or the evo's are lighter or cooler... evo's seem to have better ventilation. Either is still a bit more than I need...

Soccer shin guards seem to be the lightest and the least obtrusive. I use the variety with inserts from Nike - Mercurial Lite and Blade. But it could be that thorny vegetation can rip up the outer fabric. Maybe T90 model then.

^ this is the other issue...most of the brush we have will likely tear up a pair of high socks, compression sleeves, or fabric insert covers. I'll give my soccer socks a go first, since I have them, but am still looking for better solutions.

Any word on the 661 evo's ventilation and bulk?

They are bulky and not very well ventilated.
