I ended up ordering 2 kitsbow jerseys,
Rudy Merino Jersey | Merino Wool Jersey | Kitsbow | Mountain Bike Apparel | Kitsbow 21% merino, 79% poly
    Men's A/M Pocket Polo | Merino Jersey | Kitsbow | Mountain Bike Apparel | Kitsbow 55% merino, 45% poly

Both are great - I live in Costa Rica and have found that the merino feels cool against your skin as you ride as it absorbs some water and has a cool sensation. The highest tech synthetics pull the water away from you quickly and keep your skin feeling dry, if slightly warmer.

Just don't get a really heavy weight merino and you'll be happy. In the lighter weights to be durable look for some poly blend.

I've got a couple of merino jerseys and I wouldn't wear one above about 70F.

Lol. Our overnight temp drops down to about 78 degrees, and this is the 'cool' season.

Do you want pockets or not? If not, grab whatever merino tees you can find.

I just did a multi-day hike last week(ish) and found no difference between wearing a poly tee and a merino tee.

I like lightweight merino for a lot of things, including summer activities. I recently rode RAGBRAI across Iowa, and had a range of jerseys and t-shirts. The very thin Ibex merino shirt felt just as cool as the others (in high 80's, very high humidity), and didn't smell as bad afterward.

merino undershirt every ride, over various short to long sleeve poly shirts. biiiiiig fan of the undershirt(I also use a fanny pack/utility belt 95% of the time so no worries about a clammy turtle shell)

I feel cooler and then I can usually rewear the same top 2x since the outer smelly layer didn't get as much of a chance to get drenched like the inner wool. just gotta separate and lay/hang them to dry till the next day.
