Mechanix Orignial gloves, do they absorb sweat?
thinking about getting the Mechanix Orignial gloves. how well do they absorb sweat for wiping the eyes? normally half way through my ride I start getting sweat burning my eyes.

I wear the originals and the material on the back of the hand works well for wiping the brow. The fingers are less absorbent in my opinion.

Get a headband (Halo, Headsweats). Gloves do a lousy job of wiping eyes.

Headband would be a better solution to absorbing sweat, but the mechanics do a pretty good job. You should get them, they are pretty sweet gloves!

I got the mechanix originals. tried wiping sweat with them but didn't seem like it worked too well. the logos all over them feel like sandpaper on my face. I want maybe a thin cloth glove that has some thick material on the thumb and index finger, maybe some on the top of the hand too. the fox sidewinder and dirtpaws look way to hot and heavy duty.

I wore a pair of dirtpaws for years when I was doing park and dirt jumping in the Texas summer heat and never had an issue. They are actually very comfortable and sized right you can hardly tell youre wearing a glove. I loved them.

Mechanix make great mechanics gloves, but IMHO are not well-suited to riding.

They don't make great mechanics gloves either. The fingers get destroyed within a week.

Buy true cyclist gloves. Plenty of them have a piece of Terry cloth to wipe your face with if needed.

I have used a pair of Mechanix Extremes on and off for years. Perfectly good for riding and easy to find.

Much better than using a glove.

Btw, I was in my LBS picking up my new ride last night and tried on a pair of new dirtpaws. They have changed the design drastically since 05 when I bought my last pair. They are indeed heavier less breathable gloves. Seems like theyd be more motocross sutied.

how about a bandanna for the sweaty head, I have some mechanix gloves they seem to do the brow wiping job fine though
