    mallet pedal rebuild?

My mallets are about a year old, the spring "clips" are sticky, kinda like they have some corrosion in there, not spinning too well. I had a pair of mallets before these and rebuilt them twice over several years when the bushings and bearings would develop some play, but this is different. I've been periodically spraying some lithium grease in there, it helps a little but not enough. Would a rebuild fix this?

And besides... Why are you haulin' around all that extra pedal? Get some Eggbeaters. Your jeans won't get caught in them either. There. NOW it belongs here.

I'm not a weight weenie at all... My bike is a big monster. All I'm sayin' is I used to ride with Mallets, then went to Candys and then to Eggbeaters. They all feel exactly the same under my feet, plus I reduced the amount of pedal strikes.

Send them in to CB "Pedal Spa" at thier So Cal shop. They come back all nice and fixed for a few bucks. If they are less than a year old it's free.

The old style Acid and Acid 2's are around for good deals if you don't want all the pedal of a Mallet, you still get a small platform.
