looking for a wide toebox shoe

The shoes I currently have are Shimano M162, and they're OK. However, I would like a shoe which is wider at the very front, i.e. I want the front of the shoe to be more square and less pointy / rounded.

My M162 shoes only fits ok because there is a little bit of extra length in front of the toes. I tried one size down, and the length and overall fit was good, but then the outer edges of my big toe and pinky toe bump the shoe.

BTW I want the next shoe to have velcro straps, except the top strap to be ratchet.

Also, I prefer the sole to be even stiffer. It seems with Shimano, their wide toebox shoes ("volume +") tend to show up on the "enduro" models, with more flexible soles. I don't need such gnarly treads and protections.

Sounds like the Sidi Dominator 7 Mega would be perfect for you. Check em out, I'm very happy with mine.

Ditto on the Sidi Dominator Mega. I have an EE wide foot and they are the best fit I've ever had in a MTB shoe.
