    Less bulky flat pedal shoes

Hey all, currently using a pair of Five10... Freeriders I believe on my 29er, and love 'em. I did just build a gravel bike though, and threw on another set of Spank Oozy's rather than my usual eggbeaters, both to have a bike to just hop on and screw around, and... well just because. I don't really want to ride the Freerider's on road rides though, they just look and feel massive, so I want to find a more normal looking shoe that actually grips the pedals. So far I have found the Five10 Danny Mac, Sleuth, Sleuth Canvas, and Dirtbag, and a couple from Chrome, but have never owned there shoes, and would expect them to be more commute oriented, but I don't know if that is a bad thing even.

Anyone have experience with these, or have other recommendations?

Teva had some nice mtb shoes but unfortunately they don't make them anymore. A while back their shoes were showing up at ROSS and I grabbed like five pairs. The Rollers and Cranks are what I have. You can still find them online, but sizes colors and quantities are limited.

Five Ten Aescent or Adidas Trail Cross SL both work great for mixed surface riding, IME. For a pan-flat pedal like the Spank, I'd go Adidas, since it has a flat sole. The Aescent is ideal with concave pedals. You could also check out the Five Ten Guide Tennie.
