Lazer Helmet Lead Warning
My girlfriend just got a Lazer Phoenix full face helmet and that back of the box has the following warning:
WARNING: Handling this product will expose you to chrmicals, including lead, known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling
This is slightly disconcerting, anyone have any more information about this?
-
why are you questioning it? take that chit back to china. wash hands ha! what about a sweaty head sitting in there?

Well, That's why I was concerned. I'm waiting to hear back from them about it.

idk, if it were me i wouldn't question it and send it back. i'm sick of this relaxed policy of regulations, gotta go because i'm about to spew.

shankes3, I am in contact constantly with Lazer Sports directly in Belgium. I actually just reviewed their Lazer Oasiz helmet, and your comment is indeed concerning.
Please keep us informed of any info you get.
I had double checked the Oasiz box, and found no such warning. I will write Tim (from Lazer Sports) and ask about it too.

Ordered the helmet through Bikeman.com
I will let you know if I hear anything back but please do the same if you hear anything. The warning on the box was small, on the back panel, and very easy to miss initially.
Thanks

wow of all the product warnings I would stay away from lead
dump that like a bad habit get something else. there are many with no such
cancer or lead warnings.

I sincerely apologize for this situation. I have investigated this situation and have found that it is the result of a labeling mistake at our USA Distributor. While this distributor does import and distribute some products containing lead that must be marked with these stickers, Lazer helmets contain no lead products, no hazardous chemicals of any kind, are not affected by the California Prop 65 regulations and should have not had this sticker applied at our distributor.
If you have any questions regarding this situation please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks.

Chris, I was just about to post the email you sent me some minutes ago regarding this issue. But I am glad you actually did it yourself.
I personally thank you for the quick response and investigation regarding this issue. We all got a good scare due to that label. Hopefully you can solve that situation with your USA Distributor, it is rather unnerving to read such a label.
Anyway, thanks again! I Am glad I get to keep my Oasiz! =)

Don't worry about it. Lead poisoning is a hoax, don't you know!

You don't live in California, you're good.
