Just ordered some M540 pedals, now which shoes?

I just ordered a set of shimano M540 pedals for my Motobecane Fantom 29er and need to get some shoes. This will be my first time going clipless so I wanted some recommendations on good shoes that wont break the bank(around $70 at the most).

For shoes I'm a big supporter of trying before you buy. And they're really a personal thing for most, I'd just go to your LBS and see what they have and try them all on. Me personally I like a really stiff shoe mainly because I run eggbeaters and do not have a lot of support around the shoe. Which lead me to a Specialized shoe which fits me and is comfortable to hike a bike in.

You're definately going to want to try them on first. For me its also very important to see how comfortable they are for walking around in.... if you've ever been out and trashed a rim beyond ridability and need to walk out, its important you can trek out without major blistors.
