Just a friendly reminder to wear your helmet
Even when you are tooling around the neighborhood.

Went of a small drop near my house, less than 2 feet high, didn't see a lip endovered and smacked my head pretty good.

Spent a few hours in the hospital, met some hot nurses  . 14 stitches later, nice concussion, and I get to enjoy this bolbous oozing beast on my forehead. :madman:

    Wear your helmet!

    <<< Learned his lesson.

Oh and the Santa Cruz is A OK, other than the blood i dripped on the handle bars. ;)

Thanks, it was a total bummer too, I'm going to miss 4 hockey games for two different teams, one of them in the playoffs. They are going to kill me, seeing as though I am the goalie....

But the hot nurses were good, one was canadian. :ihih:

I can't wear helmets because I look stupid in them. I'd much rather crack my skull than have my hot neighbor see me with one on :nono: .

OUCH......that sucks man, heal up fast bro! What's worse is when you do wear your helmet and take a big branch is the right side of your head while crashing, lost a little chunk of ear and gashed the side of my head! Safe riding for all....

    Hello McFly!
Riders who don't wear helmets have nothing to protect!

Talk to Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger about helmets!

Ok, but what about riding without a helmet during a climb?

I rarely take my lid off, but found myself riding with my helmet on my pack at the weekend because of the heat.

well, you have to assess the risks. But there are those things called accidents. I took a fall off my road bike a few years ago. Don't really know what happened, maybe I slipped on the sidewalk as I unclipped? Anyway, I was at the beach, and had pulled over to check out the scene. Somehow I fell straight over almost sideways, one foot still clipped in and would have landed face first on the sidewalk, but for my helmet.

I'm glad you didn't get hurt HC, but I'll bet your spill at the beach was a laugh riot to watch.

Reminds me of my first days after getting pedals with clips and frantically trying to unclip before I toppled over while coming to a stop.

Well, it was pretty fast, not like those slo-mo "OH SH** I can't get my foot out of the pedal" type falls. I did a few of those too when first learning to ride clipless. This was more like slipping on ice, just wham.

I was sure embarrased. I did it more or less in front of an elderly couple, and they were pretty horrified. I had to reassure them I was OK. Even with the helmet I wahcked my head pretty hard.
