    Hip Pack Alternative
Instead of buying a waist pack to experiment, I put together this belt to see how I like the idea of using a waist pack for riding. It works and I like it. It's a little different than what most people are using, and I don't really care.

The pump was secured and I can carry my phone, keys, spare tube, multi tool, tire irons and water.

What belt? All is see is the black box...;)

Now that the camo joke is out of the way, where did you pick up the pieces? Surplus locally, online? The belt itself looks comfortable. Do the buckles keep it snug?

I've got about 20 rides in on a Dakine 5L
My idea was that i'd only use it half full +/- 25oz for my after work rides, knowing that the more I stuff it, the suckier it feels. In the end, even loaded to the max it's better than having the full on monkey on my back, and half way into my ride I can cincher' down and be golden.
My frame only has a shit catcher bottle mount but, I may actually think of using it in conjunction with the fanny pack (yep, I said it, embrace yer roots).

I bought everything off craigslist. The mag pouches are good for tire irons and multi tools. The First aid pouch was used for spare tube, energy bar/gel and latex gloves. The outside pocket of the water bottle holder is perfect for my phone!

The belt is padded and very comfortable. It is made by Tactical Tailor. The buckle keeps the belt tight and snug

Latex gloves are handy. My chain snapped yesterday and my hand didn't get all greasy after the repair!
