I think I know who that is...with feet that big I would have though he'd be over 6' by now.

Whoa is right How do those chicken legs push that gear ratio?

Is that gearing unusual on a BMX racing bike? I would think that little bitty wheels tame it a bit. What gear-inches are we look at here?
    Dad is sad.
    Very, very sad.
    He had a bad day.
    What a day Dad had!

ill bet that was a 48-20 givin 44.8 gi w/ 175 astabula cromo cranks and a bendix cb hub. most everything came off my stingray. it beat the shyt outta the 34t ring i was usin at 1st. i soon upgraded many things on that bike such as wheels and drivetrain. if memory serves, i ended up runnin a 44-16 most of the time offerin a much better 51.4 gi w/ 175 suntour 3 pc cranks and much nicer acs/araya fw wheels. i kept a petes precision products 45 in the toolbox for the really fast tracks and i still have that ring today. used to use it for dh on the burner.

addidas buy the way. all the rage in 76.

my new redline proline in... '78? note the slightly better haircut and BLUE addidas.

Skyway just re-released 250 TA framesets. They had a bunch of old tear drop tubsets that had been laying around since 1989 or something like that.

[I saw that bike on the coloredtuffs web site....Nice! A buddy of mine had a sweet OM Flyer with a rear der hangar...probably about 10 yrs ago. He raced it dual slalom...I always wanted one but not long after that SE was sold to someone???and they quit making them with the read der hangar. I think Fuji ownes them now. I had a PK Ripper back is 1985. It cracked right above the tt on the seat ost tube. The seat post was like 3/4 of an inch diameter and it kept bending. My dad thought he would fix the problem by ramming a solid steel piece of rebar down inot the post to reinforce it. Yeah it worked and the frame cracked instead. I was crushed. I got a CW cromo frame after that. Pistol Pete's frame. It never broke.

they were kinda famous for that. my 2nd ripper did the same thing. fluted s/posts didnt help either. i ended up with some sorta cromo diamond back frame a pal gave me, but by then, round 1 of my bmx days were pretty much over and it was all about race cars and shyt that went fast. traded it for a '79 yz 125 not long after.

I'm good for just one of the weekend days when you guys are in town- whichever day I can get a baby sitter . Cuba, was great - I had a good XC type ride at White Mesa - that gentle flowy downhill coming off the Mesa is fantastic - so good in fact I went back and did it again
