    Check out 661 Protection

most of these you can find on Amazon or discount bike sites like Jenson's or Chain Reaction.

The EVO stuff is what I would get if I wanted short sleeve and pants.. On my mountain bike I just trail ride and never actually need much protection, so just wear elbow and knee pads instead. I have a full sleeve 661 compression suit, and a very old set of CrashPads shorts left over from my motocross days if I ever go to an actual downhill resort.

Is this better than the EVO stuff?

If not, which specific EVO gear please?

Don't forget to look at the POC gear....

POC Body Armour - Cycling Body Armor Jacket Online

Elbows and knees much easier to protect. Shoulders are another story. Shoulder joint is usually damaged by leverage of your arm being extended or impact on elbow which in turn jack hammers the head out of the socket. I could see the shoulder protection helping with separations on impacts.

Good protection is also learning how to crash tuck and roll. I'm not very good at it.

    I went with a leatt 5.5 vest

Leatt Body Vest 5.5 2016 | Chain Reaction Cycles

    Leatt Body Vest 5.5 2016

Big enough that I can still fit a leatt

Leatt Body Tee 3DF Airfit Lite 2017 | Chain Reaction Cycles

Leatt Body Tee 3DF Airfit Lite 2017

    UNDER it.

It may be overkill, but I would rather protect myself.
