I was thinking of this style but was thinking would get over heated. You opinions?

What do you mean by trail riding? For what I call trail riding, I use roadie helmet or well ventilate open face mtb helmet.

I wear a Pro Tec Ace bike helmet. Itís more of a BMX style lid, but it works well.

Before buying on Amazon - try going to an online bike store and filter for Mountain Bike Helmets. Once you find one that fits your fancy, then price shop if you must buy online. +1 to support your LBS.

You'll get a bunch of different answers but I think most will agree a full face helmet will be no fun for most trail riding. I never use my full face unless I'm at the bike park doing lift assisted laps.

At the end of the day the 'right' helmet is the one that fits well and feels good on your head.

I have three different lids depending on the riding I'm doing... a full face for park laps, a well ventilated pretty light weight one for trails, and then I also have ProTec for BMX / dirt jumping.
