    helmet manufacturers question 4 ya...

why on earth would the regulation for cycling helmets, including DH ones, be that it protect a head for impacts up to 30km/hr? isnt that too low? I dont knwo about you guys but when im ripping down a trail im doing a lot more then that!!! I think its about time they re-thought that rule for dh helmets and make a more sensible standard!

just a rant! lets hear what u guys think! I dont know about you but i'll be using a DOT helmet for this season....

I think that Gyro/bell and maybe specialize have gone to a light duty motorcyle standard for some of their full faces. It still lets them have some venting, but a bit better protection. after repainting my wife's 661 full face, when you look at em, there really isnt much in front of the mouth. The fiberglass is pretty thin. it'll save your dental work a little bit, but not on a hard impact.
