    Helmet advice

Looking to buy my first full face helmet(getting into the dh) and have found two that have been purchased but never worn. One is the six six one pro bravo, and the other is a 2008 fox rampage. the 661 is $100 but could be talked down and the rampage is $50. I appreciate any advice.

At the end of the day it is all about fit, not price. I would suggest you go to your lbs and try on a 661 and fox before you purchase.

yep. they all fit diff and no ones head is the same shape. i gotta be super careful with helmets, gloves and shoes. if the lbs thing cant work, try describin yer head shape and see what others with a similar noggin suggest. for example, i have a very small and narrow skull with a flat forehead so a xs tld d2 or se fits very well. bells and giros tend to be round and large so those dont work. gaps allow energy transfer in a crash which is not reccomended, mostly for survival reasons. a loose fit allows the hat to shift and bounce which just plain sux from a comfort standpoint and often results in neck and/or facial injury in a crash. in the end, it should be just on the verge of snug vs. vise like with equal contact all around the cranium and sometimes quite tight on the cheeks dependin on design.
    No, I'm NOT back!
