Good non-lycra pants to bike in?

What pants do you prefer to bike in? I definitely prefer shorts over pants but I want to get a good pair of pants to bike in when the temperature is in th 30's.

Ralph Lauren pleated 80/20 wool poly blend. I usually get mine with 1.5 inch cuffs and taper the bell to 8 inches.

Seriously though, get yourself some mid weight base layer stuff (I'm using Champion from Target) or leg warmers and wear a pair of baggy knickers over them. Once you get moving you should be fine and not over heating.

I think he's looking for something a little warmer than just shorts... for like 30 degree weather. . . . .

I have a couple pairs of these that I wear year round - from >90 deg. (w/o legs) to < 20 deg. (w/ legs). They go anywhere - biking, hiking, xc skiing, kayaking, swimming, or just everyday casual wear. They're durable, breathable, and quick-drying. Get them loose enough so you can wear over bike shorts, or thin long johns.

They're easily the most versatile item of clothing I've ever owned.

Those would go with my pea coat that I ride in.

Champion at Target does have some pretty good stuff. And it's tough to beat the price.
