    Gloves - Clean or Toss

After about 20 sweaty rides, my gloves are incredibly stiff and stinky. Is there any way to recondition these (the leather palms), or are they disposable?

    Thanks

I always hand wash mine in the sink with a mild detergent like Woolite. Rinse them well and dry them away from heat. They might be a little stiff the first time you put them on, but the soften up quick. If they're all synthetic, I throw mine in a lingerie bag and throw them right in the laundry. Again, air dry them away from heat.

Look where you want to go. This is as true in life as it is in mtbiking.

    vinegar

I've found that washing stinky bike clothes with a little white vinegar in addition to the usual soap makes them come out sweet smelling. Also the stuff of choice for skunked dogs, works like tomato juice only without the mess.
After your washed gloves dry, you can knead the leather back into softness.

Twenty rides without washing, all I can say is EWWWWWWWW!

I throw my gloves into the washing machine after every ride. Usually put them in the dryer as well!
