Getto Helmet Cam Video- DH fun

Since I can't afford a hemet cam, I thought...why not zip -tie my Kodak camera to my helmet...GENIUS! Anyway, here's the outcome. It actually turned out way better than I though (although the camera does not do this trail justice!) I'm bad at editing, so, the run doesn't start until about 1:30 into the vid. Anyway......

My buddy has a sony lipstick cam, but, we still need to find a camera with inputs for cheap (around $200) any suggestions?

i use electrical tape and place my sony point and shoot (200$ at costco - shoots video at 30 fps) on the beak of my fullface - it works super well with minimal jarring and really high quality output - i also use electrical tape to place my camera on my v10 so as to watch the suspension move or the brakes work or the handlebars or the fork doing its thing - works really well - its amazing what you can do with electrical tape!!!!

Thanks! Yeah, with the switch backs, you can really lay it down and rail em' pretty easily; they were made wider and built up quite a bit. As for the breathing, yeah, like I said, I have no video editing know how or program (hence the ghetto cam) so, you get full effect...sorry bout' that. Even though this trail is a killer grind to get up, I always seem to bust a lung going down (probably from holding my breath on some of it).

Anyone have a sony lipstick cam (or other) and what kind of camcorder are you hooking it up to (camera with video inputs)? Thanks!

I'm running a Lorex lipstick camera (intended for security use) and connecting it to a Canon MiniDV camcorder. Quality is pretty good as long as the batteries are fresh but I get a lot of run time with the power pack I made (uses 8 AA batteries). I quit running the external mic since all I got was the heavy breathing..I'm just connecting the video into the aux input on my camcorder, using the cord that came with ir.

Do a search for helmet cam on here and you will get more information than you will know what to do with.

Me, I'm running a Viosport with a Panasonic miniDV
