    Full-finger glove with palm protection?
    Hey all,

Twice now I've fallen and suffered minor injury to my hands (bruising, deep tissue pain, swelling). I have been wearing gloves with NO palm padding (Ironclad Tac-Ops, Oakley Factory Pilot) but I'm going to switch to something that offers substantial palm protection, preferably in the form of gel inserts or similar.

Can any of you offer any personal recommendations or experiences with gloves that provide palm protection?

I think it's kind of odd that I can find lots of gloves featuring carbon knuckle guards and protective panels for the back of the hand, but what about when you crash on rocky, rooty terrain? You put your hands out and that thin layer of leather (or fake leather) doesn't provide much protection against poky, stabby rocks and bits.

    Anyway-- thanks for any tips.

There are many brands of gloves that have padded palms. Some use a gel, others thick padding. I currently use Pearl Izumi gloves with gel pads. Personally, I don't think they'll protect my hands any better than a pair of gloves without padding.

take a look at Dakine, they make two gloves with D3O padding in the palm.
