    Full Face Helmets...need options

I'm lookin to buy a full face for the upcoming summer. Didn't know if anyone out there knew about any good buys. Preferably I'm lookin to spend under 200 or so but protecting my head is pretty important.

200 will give you plenty of options and all helmets meet the same safety requirements minus the DOT approved ones which are a whole different level. With that being said buy what fits well...as they go up in price they get lighter and have more vents but still meet the same standards for safety as a $50 full face. I would highly reccomend the Giro remedy and it is well under 200 which is a plus. After a really bad crash the helmet should be replaced so do you want to be buying another $200 if you take a really bad digger?

Giros are nice. Look at 661, Fox, Bell, etc. Try everything on you can.

Take his advice and try on everything...Bell and Giro and in essence the same company and fit COMPLETELY different.

    DOT or not

Is it better to have a cheaper DOT helmet or a better bicycle only full-face. I assume the DOT rated helmets dont breathe as well.

    Thanks

Dont get a moto helmet. Regardless of what anyone says, they are WAY too hot and pretty heavy. I know, i tryed it. With that kind of money you can get some good deals... head over to price point and check it out.

The Remedy is an amazing helmet for the price. I'm from Canada and it only cost me 130 (Canadian) Plus they're good in hot weather, are comfortable and extremely durable.
The only time you'll be disapointed it when you get your first chip in the sweet paintjob.

I got a 661 Hurricane which is a little lighter than a moto helmet but still DOT and Snell and I have no problem with the heat in the summer. And that is a Phoenix summer where its normally 105-110*
