First pair of Shimano shoes. Need advice.

Question is on sizing. I put them on and I seem to have a bit over 1in. maybe more before my toes touch the front. How are these shoes suppose to fit/feel. Is that too much room, should I be going to a 10in instead?

    I'd say that's too big.

Feet are different. My Shimano shoes are one Euro size larger than my usual size (44 -> 45). I might have a little space in the front but I get a snug fit with the straps: the shoes do not move around.
